The software that Bed Bath & Beyond uses is an internal system called JDA. Everyone in both corporate and individual stores have access to it which keeps track of the merchandise in each store location. This software empowers retailers to make informed decisions that will improve their profits.  JDA’s Warehouse Management solutions tracks the movement of the inventory  including the people and material handling equipment.

Information Silos



An information silo is a group within an organization that doesn't communicate freely or effectively with other groups, including management. Silos become barrier to collaboration, accessibility, and efficiency. Silos luckily are not a problem in Bed Bath and Beyond because they use DI Central which offers Bed Bath and Beyond compliant EDI solutions to enable the business to be more compliant. Bed Bath and Beyond compliant EDI transactions are processed with the proper data and unique EDI guidelines that Bed Bath and Beyond requires.

Data

Procedures
Each department within Bed Bath & Beyond has different procedures that their staff complete in the company's success, however, order fulfillment department doest the following to complete a successful purchase:

1. When a customer submits an order online both bed bath & beyond and the vendors are notified.
2. The order fulfillment team then locates the closest Bed Bath & Beyond store to the customers and uses JDA to search if they have the product in stock.
3. Depending on the quantity of order from the customer, and whether in stock at closest store, representative will then decide whether to have the product shipped from store location or directly from the vendors
4. There are a selection of items on the website, that vendors are the only option for shipping. So in a situation like this, the representative will still receive notification, but they will skip the process of locating a closer store.
5. After, the process of who is shipping the product is decided representative at Bed Bath & Beyond are responsible for keeping track of the package and making sure it gets to the customers.
6.They also are responsible for sharing shipping information with customers.

Below is the process from the customers aspect

1. On the Bed Bath and Beyond website select the item you wish to purchase and add it to the Cart. 
2. Update the quantity of your product. If the item is in stock the item is shipped directly from vendor, if the item is not in stock you may search for a different location near you. 
3. Once you’re ready, proceed for checkout and sign into your account or you may checkout as guest and you will have a chance to create an account after your order is placed. 
4. Select an address to ship order to, select shipping method and provide billing address.  
5. Provide credit card information to conclude with your order.

Bed Bath and Beyond employees are highly trained for customers. The employees are trained for restocking shelves, assisting customers in sales, and maintaining organized sales floors. Their customer service is very helpful to customers and provide them the best service they can possibly get. Employees have the opportunity to receive good benefits and a good position over the years of experience. Bed Bath & Beyond puts majority of their focus in training their employees to provide the upmost best customer service. Employees that are hired in corporate are also required to work in individual stores for one week to really understand the culture of the company and how the stores are ran.

Customers are very loyal when It comes to choosing the right store to buy their products. The reason why Bed Bath and Beyond is one of the top stores in America for customers loyalty. Although Bed Bath & Beyond has several top competitors such as Target, Walmart, & Amazon customers always remain loyal to Bed Bath & Beyond because of the consistent exceptional service and non expiring coupons.

Bed Bath & Beyond has successful platforms on multiple social media accounts. They have over two million followers on Facebook and upload content on their daily. They also interest with customers on Facebook by responding to questions and concerns. They also have over 130,000 followers on Twitter and are extremely up to date with their tweets. The customer service department is responsible for tweeting back to customers with questions. In addition, they have over 70,000 followers on Instagram and 160,000 plus on Pinterest. They also have presence on YouTube and a blog account. Bed Bath & Beyond typically posts daily on most of their social media platforms and uses them as a way to keep interactive with their customers. They also believe in organically gaining followers and impressions.
